Discord is the primary platform for our community. To maintain a positive and engaged environment while avoiding inactive accounts or toxic individuals, we've implemented a more controlled invitation process (similar to the early days of Grono.net or Gmail).
However, this shouldn't stop you from joining us. You use different options:
The benefit of this approach is that we aim to prevent an influx of anonymous accounts, which we believe adds significant value to our community.
Our invitation system remains more accessible compared to traditional platforms like Slack groups. Once you become a part of Vavelin.dev, you'll have the ability to generate your own invite link and invite others who you think would be a great fit for our community (details below). This feature also adds a fun competitive element, as you can track your progress on the leaderboard and see who has invited the most new members. Please do not share the links publicly, such as on Facebook or other portals, where anyone can access them. Instead, provide the links directly to specific individuals.
We believe that the "invitation chain" method might be a quite interesting and fun experiment to see how fast we can grow with this approach.
